Episode Recap

At a nightclub, a sexy girl is ushered into the room where the four gentlemen are waiting for her. Jung Rok charms her to start of the conversation. The girl asks their ages but assure her that they are in their 30s. The guys gossips about an old classmate, Jong Suk, and the girl asks how they know who her dad is. They leave immediately after making sure nobody said their names.

It is February 15. A flashback comes in Do Jin’s mind: Yi Soo’s love confession to Do Jin. She begged him to accept her feelings for him. He warns her that if he accepts, they’ll live together happily for a long time. Yi Soo blurts out and runs away in embarrassment as Tae San is shocked at what just occurred.
Back to the present. Tae San looks back into Yi Soo’s confession and points out that he wants to set both Yi Soo and Yoon on a date. When Do Jin arrives, Tae San warns him not to play around with Yi Soo. This means he wants Do Jin to stay away from Yi Soo. Do Jin responds that he might pursue a serious relationship with her. Tae San shrugs off his words, hands Do Jin his phone, and advices him to keep his playboy dignity. Do Jin is asked to be in a serious relationship with someone else as his friends know his way of dating.

Yi Soo freaks out when Do Jin’s name appears on her phone and turns to Me Ahri, who’s currently being punished for sending the chocolates. At Do Jin’s fifth call, Me Ahri picks up and pretends to have found the phone. Then again, Do Jin finds it so obvious that it is Me Ahri who picks up the phone. Yi Soo grabs Me Ahri by the collar.

Do Jin pulls out the card, that Me Ahri wrote to Tae San in Yi Soo’s name, out from the chocolate basket. The card consists of cute and poetic wordings. Do Jin gets jealous and drives to Yi Soo’s house to confront her. He meets Se Ra and she tells him two reasons why Yi Soo did not pick up the call: either she hates him or loves him. Yi Soo sees the two talking as she walks home and hides in front of her neighbour’s gate. She ends up being lectured by the pastor.

Jung Rok’s wife struts into his café to order a tea and hands him her card. Instead of signing her name, she writes: ‘Why he didn’t pick up the call? Where was he last night?’ He lies that he was with Do Jin and is saved by Se Ra’s entrance. The two women tear each other down by commenting on their ‘youthful and gorgeous’ looks.

Do Jin texts Yi Soo from inside his car after he sees her leave her neighbour’s house. He watches her flip out numerous times as she tries to figure out what to do. Yi Soo spots Do Jin mid-jump and the two stare at each other. He approaches her, saying he can’t sleep or eat because she used him. She tries to lose up the tension between them by using aegyo but it turn out to be awkward. She suggests a talk over coffee but Do Jin shakes his head. He wants something alcoholic in a place with four walls. She suggests going to a hotel but Do Jin asks if her house doesn’t have four walls.

As Do Jin drinks a beer, he asks her when she started to like him. He continues that she must really have wanted to confess to him because he receives the chocolate basket from her. She continues to apologize but he twists the words from Tae San’s card to fit him. Yi Soo tells Do Jin that he should just inform his friends that he rejected her, but he prefers to enjoy the ‘romance’ with her.

Me Ahri comes home to find Yoon leaving with a duffel bag. He notices that she has leg pain, which she explains is from a punishment. She forcefully pleads and orders Yoon to have a cup of coffee before he leaves. She reaches for some saucers on a high shelf. She thought that the saucers will come down crashing to the floor but Yoon catches them. The two of them uncomfortably close to each other. Yoon goes back to his office and opens his bag to reveal a wedding photo.

The four men meet up at Jung Rok’s café and make plans for an overnight trip to play baseball with their colleagues. Do Jin perks up when he hear that Yi Soo is coming along. However, the carpool arrangements are done by Tae San and Yoon. Do Jin, them, initiates these arrangements behind their backs. A woman comes into the café whom Jung Rok recognizes.

Tae San comes back to the office to complain about a surprise meeting with a client, which prevents him from driving Yi Soo to the baseball game. Do Jin puts on a ‘concern’ look but refuses to take over the meeting. Do Jin says that he can drive Yi Soo if Tae San is busy but Tae San turns him down. He decides that Yoon will take Yi Soo. Do Jin starts to come up with another plan.

On the day of the baseball trip, Do Jin shows up at Yi Soo’s house and informs her that Yoon’s car is very full. Yoon ends up picking up Me Ahri and three baseball players. One of the players informs Yoon that they also have to pick up uniforms. In the other car, Do Jin points out that he prefers to play golf. She then asks him why he is attending the game. He replies that he has to be the visual in the team. Yi Soo brings out rolls of kimbab and boiled eggs and Do Jin scolds her for thinking of eating in his car. This car is not to be dirtied. She questions about his care for his car until she realizes that he given it a name.

He stops at a rest area so she can eat her food. He snipes comments about her eating a lot of food. Do Jin brings up the red dress incident and Yi Soo chokes on her food. She bursts out shouting that she has no freaking idea what he’s talking about and that she never will. While Yi Soo sleeps in the car, he drives off to another location after receiving a call from Jung Rok. He needs Do Jin to lie to his wife that he and Do Jin are vacationing together. When Yi Soo wakes up, she shouts at him for not telling her beforehand. Do Jin ignores and went inside the hotel to save Jung Rok.

Inside the hotel, Do Jin informs Mrs. Jung Rok that her husband was with him this weekend on a golf trip. Jung Rok tells him about the women he has been with which Do Jin’s jaw stiffen. A message comes to Do Jin and it said that Yi Soo has left with his car. Yi Soo has taken the car to drive down to the baseball game. Along the way, she sees the guy from the airplane trying to hitch a ride. She offers him a ride.
Do Jin shows up at the hotel where the baseball team is. He stomps up to Yi Soo and demands to know where his car is. However, during his conversation with Yi Soo, one of his employees sees him and strangely throws out awkward praises at him. Apparently, the employee had made a mistake and his punishment is to flatter Do Jin whenever they meet.

Do Jin finds his car parked near the ocean with a smiling dried octopus hanging from the rear-view mirror. At that moment, it drops onto the car seat and Do Jin screams for mercy. To get back at Yi Soo, he places the dried octopus into her bag which is then put on table where the sunlight is.
The baseball game begins. Do Jin keeps staring at Yi Soo from behind the fences. Unfortunately, the game ends prematurely because cheerleader Me Ahri gets hit in the face by a baseball. Yoon ends up taking her to the hospital while the rest prepare for dinner.

Yi Soo screams when she opens her bag. Do Jin smiles as he knew that his revenge is a success. He heads upstairs. Yi Soo points out that he is a petty men but he admits that he is not a really a nice gentleman. As a punishment, she has to praise him whenever he calls out her full name. She laughs at his absurd request, but a reminder that he can tell Tae San about her one-sided love. In the end, she does the punishment.
Yi Soo wears some of Me Ahri’s clothes which causes the boys to go crazy over her. Tae San remarks that he’s never seen this side of her and offers to give her a ride back home. Do Jin cuts him off by saying that he wants to bring her on a date to eat sashimi. He says her full name which causes her to praise him by whispering in his ear. Do Jin takes Yi Soo by the shoulders and walks behind her to cover the guys’ view of her legs. Tae Sane comments that they look good together.

At the sashimi house, Yi Soo asks for the real reason for keeping her from going home. He replies that although he wants to spend time with a women but she wants her to be the driver. She grabs the soju bottle and starts gulping it down. He comments that she does really want to be with him. She instantly starts to spit the alcohol back into the bottle.

Later, the two watch the sunset. Do Jin wraps his jacket around Yi Soo’s skirt when it flutters around from the wind. She reluctantly thanks him for his warm gesture. He asks her why she is an umpire. She replies back that it is not only because she likes baseball but she also likes Tae San as a baseball player. She apologizes for pulling Do Jin into the love mess. They look at the ocean and enjoy the view together.
The next month, Do Jin passes by the store he bought the tablecloth from. A price tag has been put on it, which brings a smile to Do Jin’s face. At school, some of Yi Soo’s students belittle her for teaching ethics, which they see is an irrelevant subject. As they continue to complain, Dong Hyub approaches with his crew. He leaves a warning never to bad-mouth about Yi Soo again.

Jung Rok finds out that his wife came to the café to pick up his credit card statement. He panics and goes to the gym where she works out at with a bouquet of roses. When he arrives, he finds that his wife is flirting with her personal trainer. He marches up to them and commands the guy to step away. She introduces him as her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Yi Soo sees an architecture magazine that features Do Jin on its cover at a bookstore. She reads his interview about his career and marriage. Within that article, she finds out that he doesn’t believe in marriage because he has no confidence to be with and love just one woman.

Tae San informs Do Jin that Yi Soo is going on a blind date set up by Se Ra. Do Jin gets a call from Tae San. Do Jin is told that Yi Soo is on the blind date and tells Tae San that he will settle the situation. Later, he shows up at the restaurant where Yi Soo, who came ten minutes before the meeting, will have her blind date. He plops down in front of her and tells her that Tae San told him to “rescue” her. Her eyes light up as she hear Tae San’s name but cause Do Jin to grit his teeth. Do Jin points up that he is the man for her leading up to the point that he admits that he has a ‘one-sided’ love on her.

Point of View

The main couple, Do Jin and Yi Soo, goes on a roll with many ‘love’ scenes whenever they are together. Do Jin gets Yi Soo’s attention to be with him while not revealing his true feelings about her. Although he is handsome and arrogant, I like his funny and sensitive side of him (ie smiling dried squid and road trip scenarios). On the other hand, I like Yi Soo because she also has the funny side of hers as she felt embarrassed and being ‘bullied’ by Do Jin. They really are a perfect couple which I adore. I am looking forward to their ‘one-sided love’ journey between those two. Tae San starts to worry about Yi Soo as she starts to hang out with Do Jin. There are hardly any dates between Tae San and Se Ra. I have a feeling that he is falling in love with Yi Soo. However, I don’t think that Kim So Roo is given enough screening time in this episode. I feel that he is a supporting character, not mostly a main character of this drama.

Yoon’s story start to develop as a wedding photo of his wife revealed. In addition to that, the romance between him and Me Ahri starts to spark as she tries to get his love with many loving but annoying methods (ie Me Ahri dressed up in a cheerleader’s outfit and cheering without knowing that this is a total embarrassment). Yoon’s sensitive side is revealed as he is having a hard time after, maybe, his wife passed away. Also, the awkward romantic sparks between Yoon and Me Ahri. Based on the next episode preview, I am hoping to see what is going to happen to Yoon. Thank you, writers for revealing little bits of Yoon’s side story and romance.

Jong Rok, yes, finally shows up with his argument by his stalking wife. Yes, Jong Rok did wrong about dating other women behind her back. But, I feel really annoyed with her because of her attitude and personality including the way she talks to both Se Ra and Jong Rok. Jong Rok did try to ask his wife for forgiveness but she just pushes him away. On a side note, I do enjoy the push and pull relationship between them. In my opinion, as a woman, I will take on the wife’s side but I will never ever overdo in stalking Jong Rok like that. For Jong Rok, I do feel sorry for him but he dating other women is wrong while just stick to his wife because of money is wrong. He might as well divorce with the wife, who is a stuck up and annoying, and go date and marry the right woman.

In this episode, the main couple, Yoon, and Jong Rok’s are shown more often than Tae San. Like I said, Tae San is more of a supporting character, which I do feel sorry for him. But, then again, this drama just started. I hope that his sensitive and romantic side towards Se Ra, and maybe, Yi Soo will be revealed soon in the next upcoming episodes. However, I still love this drama because it is romantic and entertaining. I still adore Do Jin and Yi Soo romance and love fights. I still love the bromance among these four gentlemen. I hope to see more bromance including the flashback about how they meet and how they keep this friendship lasts till the very end.
