Asiana Delivers Korea’s Royal Books

Asiana Airlines (President: Young-Doo Yoon), will be the first airline to deliver the royal books back to the native soil since its departure 145 years ago.

The 297 books of “Uigwe,” or manuscripts from the Josen dynasty will be delivered to Korea in which 8 of the only copies will be included in the first delivery of 75 copies. The first set of books will depart Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 20:10pm (local time) on the 13th and arrive in Incheon International Airport on OZ502 flight at 14:10pm (Korea time) on the 14th.

As being a part of a historic event, Asiana Airlines to provide safe delivery of the royal books have formed a special team dedicated in handling the royal books, and will be using a special container to transport the royal books.

Especially, Asiana has the experience in handling delicate artifacts with accomplishing special deliveries like the ‘Masterpiece of Goryeo Buddhist Paintings’ in which Asiana successfully delivered 103 Buddhist paintings to the U.S, Germany, France and Japan last year. With the knowledge and experience in handling special cargoes, Asiana will utilize this experience in accomplishing the successful deliver of the royal books.
