London Korean Film Night: Blades of Blood (2010)

It’s the Chosun dynasty in the late 16th Century, and Korea is on the verge of being invaded by the Japanese. Two men – a Royal descendant Lee Mong-hak and the legendary blind swordsman Hwang Jeong-hak – create a ‘grand union’ to unite the country’s people and to stamp out corruption. However Mong-hak has designs on the throne and brings together a rebel army to overthrow the King. His lust for power leads to the death of a friend of Jeong-hak, forcing the swordsman to stand between his ally and the throne.
