Tae Hoon (Rain) used to be part of the ‘Black Eagle’ but he was kicked out because he ruined the exhibition at an air show. He is transferred to the 21 combat flight unit which is led by Dae Seo whom he rely him like an older brother. Tae Hoon tries to get along with Cheol Hee who is one of the best pilots in the 21 combat flight unit. Also, he falls in love with the head of maintenance, Se Young (Shin Se Kyung). Suddenly, up in the sky of Yeouido, an unidentified fighter plane appears follow by the enemies. So, the 21 combat fight unit is ready to battle in the sky to protect the city, their loved ones, and their comrades.

So far, this is my favourite Korean film about air combat. Most of the air combat scenes are my favourite. I feel as if I was on a ride on the plane and seeing myself in action to fight the baddies in the sky. Also, I like how the pilots use their terminology use of air combat while communicating (both serious and funny at some parts). I get myself into the film whenever there are air combat scenes while I hold my fists as I know that the good guys are going to win. There is a lot of action going on for the good guys but I was slightly disappointed about the bad guys. The bad guys are not fully focused on it even though they need to be there.

Rain, yes, the K-pop idol for was featured in ‘Speed Racer’ and ‘Ninja Assassin’. Besides the hot body, I am impressed with his portrayal on Tae Hoon. He balances his emotions from being the funny and sweet guy to a serious and passionate guy. He looks really good in a pilot suit which I’m sure that fans would love including Rain’s hot body. Even though he is taking on the next challenge in acting, it’s still a long way to go for him. For me, I much prefer him to be both a singer and a TV drama actor. Although he was featured in a few films, Rain has much more to learn.

To be honest, I was really disappointed in Shin Se Kyung. It looks like she didn’t put much effort for this film. She hardly reveals her sensitive emotions that I wasn’t convinced that she’s good. For example, whenever she cries, I was shaking my head because she is like forcing herself to cry and let her tears fall from her eyes. I don’t even feel how she cries at all.

On the other hand, there is a lack of love development between Tae Joon and Se Young. When they are friends, I enjoyed it. However, as the film goes on, there is not much love chemistry between them. Because of that, I prefer the air combat scenes and the emotional scene (friends who died in the air combat) more than the romance in this film. What’s worse is that I was expecting the kissing scene between Tae Joon and Se Young but that didn’t happen as that scene was cut. That is because of Se Kyung’s personal reason. If that scene was there, then the ending would be perfect.

The action in this film is good but alas there is a lack of romance between Tae Joon and Se Young. The main casts still need to brush up their acting skills so that we are convinced about how they portray the film characters whom we can feel the sense of connection.
