Taro Hakase ‘Japonism’


Taro Hakase the contemporary classical and crossover violinist, entertainer, music composer and producer has announced he will play a show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Monday the 25th November.

Taro’s violinist career started in 1990 as a band member of Kryzler & Kompany, violin, bass and keyboards trio. After their break-up Hakase launched his solo career and become internationally recognised after a collaboration soundtrack and a concert tour with Celine Dion in 1996.

Taro Hakase is not only an award winning artist receiving Japan Gold Disc Awards successively for 2 years, selling more than 6 million albums in his homeland but also a record winning performer, regularly playing sold-out 5000-capacity concerts. Taro features regularly on the bill at two key Japanese music festivals, ‘Jonetsu Tairiku Special Live Summer Time Boanza’ and ‘Live Image’. In 2012 he held the record as an instrumental artist for the most concerts performed in Japan, his solo concert audience figure has now surpassed an incredible 2 million.

In addition to his work in the live arena Mr Hakase has also found time to found and became a general director of record label ‘HATS’.

Hakase is currently living in London to concentrate on working and playing a vast amount of classical music.
