Whale of a Time: The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013
Breaking the boundaries of traditional and pop music, Coreyah is clearly influenced by modern pop culture, but Korean tradition is never far away. Beautiful ensemble and powerful performance! The band features four Korean traditional musical instrument players, a guitarist, and a world percussionist. The group’s eclectic composition allows them to blend a wide range of genres: pansori (a traditional Korean narrative song), pop, rock, Gypsy music from the Balkan Peninsula, South American and African music, and mix the music of the past and the present.
